The Characters: "I see Escape Velocity as a cross between an old western chase film like 3:10 to Yuma or True Grit, where two characters diametrically opposed are forced to work together, and the grounded sci-fi worlds Star Wars or Alien. Its characters may not have the power of superheroes but they will fight like hell escaping murderous hunters in an asteroid belt, fending off hordes of deadly aliens and having a shootout in the heart of a planet-sized spaceship.”
